Hey, Homies!

Alas, the Sales Homie newsletter is rising from its short 4-5 month power nap! We are writing to you today to introduce and explain the new and revised newsletter … still based on Sales, Strategy, and Growth in Business, called “The Sales Report,” by Sales Homie.

Each week, The Sales Report will arrive in your inbox to highlight and focus on three current happenings in the business and sales-related world(s) that you’ll find of interest.

After all, if you’re like me, you’re too busy during the work week (aka. your prime selling and business growth days) to follow every story out in the ethos!

Why is this important?

Growth in sales, or business, happens through knowledge and education. No one wakes up in the mornings and knows everything needed to grow a business or hit their sales quota. Scale happens through decision-making with the latest data. And you learn by experimenting, failing, and succeeding, and by implementing successful tactics that others have had success with.

Here’s what happened when you were out selling and growing your business:

1) The shrinking U.S. labor force is compelling companies to adapt with various workforce strategies.

Sales Tip of the Week:

Great SALES reps focus on the “we” vs the “me.”

We’ve all heard the saying, “There is no ‘ i ‘ in team!” No different when you’re in front of a prospect or customer. Demonstrating a togetherness vernacular of “we” and not “me” will help you position your prospect or customer with your desire to help.

After all, that’s why SALES reps win business; because they find a way for their product or service to help solve a need.

2) What is a SWOT Analysis? (And When To Use It).

It is impossible to accurately map out a small business’s future without first evaluating it from all angles. An effective SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) helps companies, or individual business units, strategize for growth. Read more here.

3) US GDP grew 3.3% in Q4 of ‘23, beating estimates of 2%.

Real gross domestic product GDP) increased at an annual rate of 3.3 percent in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the “advanced” estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the third quarter, real GDP increased 4.9 percent. Read more here.
