1) March Saw Increase In Job Growth And Retail Sales 🛍️

The Census Bureau said overall retail sales in March were up 0.7% seasonally adjusted from February and up 4% unadjusted year over year. That compared with increases of 0.9% month over move and 2.1% year over year in February. Read more here. 👈🏼

SALES growth can be a slow process. And switching strategies every month won’t change that.

We’ve all been there. Nothing is working. You’re getting more “no’s” than anything.

So you have a bright idea … you’re going to ‘switch things up!’

From a micro aspect, there might be positives to this. You might try cold calling in the afternoon on Tuesday instead of the morning. Or you might try to attend an after-hours event on a Friday, instead of a traditional Thursday afternoon.

But, I caution you on making macro changes to your sales approach, and/or process.

SALES … or sustaining a career in SALES, is a long game. Even if you’re selling in an industry where you can one-call-close a customer, the work it took to prospect, book the meeting, educate yourself on the product or service, learning objection handling … it all simply takes patience, practice, and repetition. Switching up strategies because you’re in the valley of your SALES output never usually pans out over the long term.

Instead, focus on watering your current lawn, if the opportunities aren’t green enough for you.
