Everyone manages and calculates risk differently. Owners and leaders typically look through a 30,000-foot lens, while Managers or representatives measure risk at the field level.

One never wants to take risks that will ultimately put your business in jeopardy; however, there are simple ways to take “risks” that can only lead to greater sales and/or revenue results. Things like calling upon a C-Suite resource instead of a perceived point of contact, or hatching a crazy follow-up strategy to try to move a piece of business into the next sales cycle phase, come to mind.

Taking a brand risk on the marketing side can be a straightforward step towards being more “risky,” but so can extending budgets or quotas to help drive growth.

Not so fast! Employers across the U.S. added 147,000 jobs in June, with the labor market remaining resilient despite slowing economic growth this year. That figure is in line with the average monthly gain of 146,000 over the last year, according to the Labor Department.

Job growth was more substantial than expected in June. Payroll gains sailed past the 115,000 predicted by economists polled by financial data firm FactSet. The nation’s unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, down from 4.2% in May, and is the lowest since February. The jobless rate came in below economists’ forecasts of 4.3% according to FactSet.
