My first 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦 gig was during my junior year of college. I door-knocked residential homes to book consultations/appointments for a General Contractor (windows, siding, doors, etc).
The owner wrote a script for me to use and helped me during the first few days, knocking and booking appointments himself with me while I was watching on.
When I started to do more of the ‘pitching’ myself, I would end up RACING through the script. I was nervous. I wasn’t confident. And for those moments at someone’s front door, I was rushing through what was my 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦 process.
I learned success by being patient and being slow in my delivery. Decades and an entire 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦 career later, I still take account of the speed that I guide any prospect through any 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗦 process.
Clarity and trust come from patience, education, and confidence. That doesn’t happen by rushing through anything.
